Information Collection and Information Usage
DRIFTR collects information through our website at several points. Currently, all photos and trip content are open to the public.
Unregistered Users
The DRIFTR website is best experienced as a registered member which provides profile personalization with access to a personal map, friends feature, trip and photo sharing, blog posting (including recommendations), and posting comments on other members trips. Any user can choose not to register and can still view members trips, photos, and content. As an unregistered user you will not be able to access areas of the site that require authentication with a login and password.
Registered Users
Registered members have access to profile personalization that includes a personal map, friends feature, trip and photo sharing, blog posting (including recommendations), and posting comments on other members trips. You will have a unique login and password which should be kept private. You can log into your account at anytime to change your email and/or password. When you create a DRIFTR login and profile, you will be accessing a secure server with secure server software (SSL) that encrypts all information you input before it is sent.
When you register, we require your first name, last name, email address, age, country, and city. We use this information to create your profile on the DRIFTR website and to give you secure access to members-only areas of the website.
You should be aware that by using the DRIFTR website as a registered member your profile (with photos and content) is publicly viewable. You will control which content to upload so you should only upload content you are comfortable with sharing. Although your email address will not be shared or visible to other members, you may receive/send friend requests using the DRIFTR website. You can specify your contact preferences under My Account.
